The Perfect Smile... Beauty, is uniquely yours. It is an artform, taking the unique characteristics that make you who you are and designing a smile that fits YOU. Your facial characteristics, shape, skin tone, eye color, lip position, all play a role in how your smile is viewed. Dr. Gordon Ediger and his associates are experts in designing perfect smiles that are unique to who you are.

The transformation of your smile is different for each individual. Porcelain veneers are made to cover the facial or front surface of the tooth. They are a thin shell of ceramic that is bonded directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. It is very similar to placing acrylic fingernails on top of natural nails.
Veneers are an ideal choice for improving your smile and are used to enhance the shape and color of teeth, as well as to close spaces between teeth.
They are also used to lengthen worn or shortened teeth when the wear of the anterior teeth affects the aesthetics of your smile. They are truly a remarkable restoration when they are the treatment of choice and are the most aesthetic means of creating a more pleasing and beautiful smile.
A crown covers a tooth and restores it to its normal shape and size. A crown can make your tooth stronger and improve its appearance. It can cover and support a tooth that has a large filling. It can be used to attach a bridge, prevent a weak or brittle tooth from breaking, or restore one that’s already broken.
Our studies on crown technology help in the selection of the crown material that best suits each patient’s needs. Dr. Ediger’s experience with crown technology is used for developing a treatment plan composed of different properties depending upon the placement of the crown and the properties of other existing tooth structures…especially opposing teeth. Posterior teeth for example, endure extreme forces when we chew and grind our food. Anterior teeth are not used in the same fashion. Restoration products for these 2 different areas of the jaw should have different properties.
A bridge is a device, which fills the gap where teeth are absent. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental professional. Removable bridges, as the name implies, can be taken out and cleaned. Fixed bridges offer more stability than their removable counterparts.
Oral functionality and appearance are important reasons for a wearing a bridge. A bridge helps support your lips and cheeks. The loss of a back tooth may cause your mouth to sink and your face to look older.
Are missing teeth causing you to miss out on life? Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth. Implants are like a small anchor inserted into the jawbone to take the place of a missing tooth root. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and facial contours will be preserved. A dental implant is a manufactured titanium post that is designed to create a stable foundation for a natural looking tooth restoration. Placed directly into the jawbone, a dental implant is the closest thing to your natural tooth.
Bonding and Gum Contouring
Full Mouth Reconstruction
The term bonding is used to describe procedures where tooth-colored dental resins and composites are used. Direct bonding techniques can be used to change the shape and color of teeth as well as to close unattractive spaces. It can also be used to repair chipped or strengthen broken teeth, improve the shape, size and color of a tooth or even to cover up unsightly stains. Bonding can be an alternative to veneers and is a very conservative procedure and requires only a minimal amount of tooth reduction.
Reconstructive dentistry is the art and science of restoring the whole mouth and face. The teeth, gums, bones, jaws, lips, and face may be involved.Years of neglect, disease, or natural aging can cause wear and collapse of the teeth, jaw, and facial features. Unhealthy bone loss can make your jawline recede.
These complex changes can be restored by rebuilding the teeth, restoring the bite and improving the boney foundation. Most often our treatment is limited to the teeth, gums and attached bone. However, this reconstruction can dramatically improve the facial appearance. Often people are complemented that they “look good” without looking like they had “work done”.
